Not just an expression from the 50's anymore, the G-Wiz is an electric car now available in the Britain. It has a top speed of 40-45mph, a range of about 50 miles, and a charge time of 2.5 hours to 80% and 8hrs to full. One fun little feature is that you can get the body in 100% recycled ABS plastic, just to get that total toy car feeling. But one of the real advantages to this car is the city perks, you are exempt from road tax, the London congestion charge, free parking on meters and car parks, insurance breaks, and 100% tax write off for businesses. It is heartwarming to see a government that actually offers incentives to progressive buyers. Now if we can only find a way to export that idea to other countries... yeah, I'm talking to you America! The G-Wiz is manufactured in India where is goes by the name Reva. The Reva is not expensive to make and is not based on new technology. What it is based on, is a company with the courage to use what we already know to it's fullest advantage, and there are plans in the works for a 75mph high performance version.
